Disclaimer: This was supposed to be a video confessional. I'm planning on making video blogs as confessionals, however I had some sound issues with my recording and so I gotta take care of that and I didn't want to take too long to answer this questions.
1- Introduce yourself! Who are you and what are you about?
Well, my name is Oscar. I’m 30 years old. I’m from the Dominican Republic. I’ve been working as a software developer for the past 7 years. I’m currently engaged to a wonderful lady. I LOVE survivor like more than any other thing anyone could’ve ever invented!
I was a regular ORG player a couple of years ago. I started playing online reality games back in 2006. I was pretty active for about 6 or 7 years. After that I guess I became and adult and well time seemed to ran away from me and so I couldn’t keep up with the ORGs demands anymore and I sort of retired. I think the last game I played was over 5 or 6 years ago.. It’s crazy how long it's been. So this is some sort of “come back” for me.
My first choice as a player was Brady Finta (Survivor Vanuatu) because he was the first character I ever played as (and failed miserably) so I thought it’d be “poetic” to play as him after so many years. But I’m fine playing as Jaime so it’s all good. I'm going to do my best regardless!!
2- What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
I’m a talker. Like, really, I love talking and I’d like to consider myself quite good at it. I can talk my way out of pretty much every situation and I’d like to think that I’m very good at convincing people to look at things my way. So that’d be one of my strengths. Working as a software developer, it’s a must that you have strong logic abilities. Before making any decision you have to look at the whole picture to make sure you are using the BEST posible method there is. You cannot make a decision to bypass a problem without understanding what's causing it and what's the best fix. If you make a poor decision, it's going to pop out later on and probably be even worst. So I think the ability of taking into account all posible variable before making a decision is one of my strengths and something that I feel like it can be useful to me in this game.
As for my weaknesses, been a perfectionist it’s DEFINITELY going to be a problem when it comes to this game. I like to have things going MY WAY and I like them to be flawless, something that's not very practical when it comes to playing survivor. You have to be fluid and adaptable and that's something that I need to keep in mind because it's easy for me to stick to what "I know" and like not give in. I’m also a bit prideful and so it’s sort of hard for me to admit I'm wrong or let someone get away with something just to avoid conflict. So that’s definitely something that I’m gonna have to keep an eye out for because it might hinder my chances.
3- If you could compare yourself to a Survivor player, who would it be and why?
I would like to say Sophie. I never really liked her as a character but I think that’s because I feel like we are very similar in terms of personality and so it’s very hard for people to like me without knowing me. People that don’t know me often think that I’m arrogant and like hard to relate to. I’m also not comfortable at all with showing my emotions in public (and even in private). It's something I struggle with to this day. I’m very sarcastic and I make comments that may rub people the wrong way. I’m also very strategic with my decisions and it’s very easy for me to lose sight of the “human” aspect when it comes to playing.

I have one of the most interesting story-arcs of the season. I’m a sort of come-back kid!. There might be some people here that were just children when I started playing orgs. I’ve been a fan of survivor for almost 15 years. I’m excited to prove to myself that I still have it in me to play and win. I will be entertaining and I will try my hardest to live up to my expectations!

Oh you know, just living the quarantine life right now. Got out of an awful job of 3.5 years back around Christmas, went back to College, and then 2020 happened of course, lol.
